About

Air Issues - COTA chairs the Air Issues Monitoring Consortium, which has been instrumental in bringing attention to the need for improved international and domestic air transportation policy. During the 2004 federal election, AIM BC was front and centre in elevating the need for policy change with candidates and subsequently the elected members of parliament. In its fourth year, AIM continues to shape the air service debate and to press for needed changes.

Keeping a Skilled Workforce - Destinations, a COTA and Grant Thornton partnership with government, has placed more than 23,000 job seekers in tourism employment. More information on the Destinations program

Tourism/Mining MOU - Working with the Mining Association of BC and the BC Chamber of Mines, COTA established an important accord in 2004 which paves the way for tourism certainty on BC's land base.

Transportation Infrastructure - After two years of consultation and research, COTA is preparing to release the first comprehensive transportation strategy for the BC tourism industry. "Making Inroads: A Provincial Transportation Strategy for the BC Tourism Industry" lays down the foundations of an inter-modal transportation network serving the tourist.
