Become an
Association Member
If you represent a not-for-profit association involved in promoting tourism into and within the province of British Columbia, you are eligible to become an Association Member of COTA. Association members are voting members. As an association member, your representative will sit on the COTA Council which meets no less than three times per year to discuss important tourism issues. At these meetings and others, COTA brings you together with the key decision makers from government and the business community. Benefits of Becoming an association member include
Membership investment level: Association membership calculation for the current year (08/09) is based on total association revenues for the 2006 fiscal year. Associations whose members are primarily in the tourism and hospitality industry (i.e. revenues primarily attributed to non-resident spending) are assessed 1/4 of 1 per cent (0.0025) of total revenues. Revenues calculated are from all streams including grants, membership investments, levies, hotel tax, event revenues etc. This is an adjustment down from the previous model passed in February 2007 that was pegged at 1 per cent of 'core' revenues. Association membership cycle is April 1 to March 31; after June 1 membership investment will be pro-rated. Fill out a membership application by clicking here (or download a PDF). All memberships are subject to approval by the COTA Board of Directors. |
