Membership investment level: Association membership calculation for the current year (08/09) is based on total association revenues for the 2006 fiscal year. Associations whose members are primarily in the tourism and hospitality industry (i.e. revenues primarily attributed to non-resident spending) are assessed 1/4 of 1 per cent (0.0025) of total revenues. Revenues calculated are from all streams including grants, membership investments, levies, hotel tax, event revenues etc. This is an adjustment down from the previous model passed in February 2007 that was pegged at 1 per cent of 'core' revenues. Association membership cycle is April 1 to March 31; after June 1 membership investment will be pro-rated.
