The BC Wilderness Tourism Association (WTA) exists to ensure the ongoing viability of BC's $2 billion nature-based tourism industry. Rural BC's growth engine and the anchor to BC's overall $10 billion 'Super,Natural' tourism industry , wilderness tourism is a sustainable economic enterprise that can contribute to the economic diversity and ongoing viability of regional BC communities. The WTA undertakes organizing, advocacy, outreach, and education to increase awareness of nature-based tourism, and to ensure that this industry's interests are incorporated in land use policies and decision-making at the municipal, regional, and provincial level.
